Ceramic Hobs "Free Tim Telsa" - Download

Originally released in 2000 this long out of print 6 track CD-R of sample and noise infested avant-punk was brought into the world by the equally long time defunct Small Orange label.

Biography from their Discogs Pages: "Blackpool avant-punk band active from the mid-eighties onwards, formed by singer Simon Morris & assisted by a variety of musicians, including many ex- or future members of other Blackpool bands."

Download full EP from: Mediafire

Our CD-R copy has since became corrupted so this download is instead taken from a 15 or so year old deteriorated second generation cassette. The sound is presented "flat" the only processing applied being a moderate amount of tape hiss reduction.

The inner tray image was originally deliberately hidden behind a black CD tray. See it here in all it's "glory"

"Bang Out of Order" by Simon Morris

Unattributed but almost definitely the work of Simon Morris of the brilliant Ceramic Hobs this 24 page booklet is a document of the early 1980's Power Electronics scene and contains both a hilarious and shocking account of the rise and fall of fictional PE band Hitler Rally as well as a potted history of all the scenes major players (and many not so major players) with the odd bit of actual PE ephemera thrown in for good measure.

Having not lived through this period and having only a very limited knowledge of the music, this booklet almost makes me wish I had and certainly makes me long for the pre-Paypal, pre-My Space (remember them?), pre-blog, pre-Sound Cloud days of D-90s and the actual writing and posting of letters and cheques rather than all this "add to basket" bollocks.
